Amherst Industrial Development Agency (AIDA)

Authorizes industrial revenue bonds for eligible industrial and commercial projects in the Town of Amherst.

About

The AIDA was created in 1973 by an act of the NYS Legislature as an independent NYS Public Benefit Corporation. The AIDA is not a Town of Amherst Department, nor does it receive any financial assistance from Town Government to sustain its operations as it operates by fees generated on projects. Currently, the AIDA has four full-time staff members and qualified professionals to assist it in carrying out its mission.

The AIDA’s mission is to promote economic diversity, quality employment opportunities and to broaden the tax base of the Town of Amherst and Village of Williamsville in order to reduce the tax burden on homeowners, while helping to maintain and enhance a high quality living environment.
